Canadian Express Entry 2019
On Wednesday, March 6, Canada held a new Express Entry draw issuing 3,350 invitations to apply for permanent Canadian residence to candidates with scores as low as 454 in the Comprehensive Ranking System.
This year, the Government of Canada issued 17,850 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) through the Express Entry system — an increase of 6,350 over the 11,500 ITAs issued in 2018 at the same time. Last year, Canada finally issued a record 89,800 ITAs, a milestone that the federal government is expected to surpass this year given its higher admission targets for the categories of Express Entry – managed Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and Canadian Experience Class. Application invitations are based on the Comprehensive Tanking System (CRS) score of a candidate based on factors such as age, education, skilled work experience, family ties in Canada, and fluency in either English or French. The March 6th draw’s minimum score was 454. Candidates who meet the eligibility requirements for these categories will be entered in the Express Entry pool where they have been awarded a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score for factors such as their age, education, work experience and English or French skills. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) performs these drawings twice a month, with a minimum score for each draw being set.
So far this year, the Canadian government issued 17,850 requests for applications (ITAs) through the Express Entry system. A target of 81,400 Express Entry ITAs for 2019 was set by the government. Last year, 89,800 ITAs were issued for Express Entry.
